Why we go to sleep so late

We know, that we should sleep enough, but we often go to sleep late. Why? It has one simple reason in many cases. We want to extend our pleasure time. We usually do “prefered” activities before we go to sleep. We go to the job, solve problems, go home, “fix” family and than we are looking to have a time for ourself.

Our time is split for “must” activities and “like” activities. If we spend a lot of time on “must” activities, we want to do also “like” activities to feel the life and enjoy it. If the ratio of “must” and “like” is not in the balance, we do not feel happy. We want to circumvent our feeling and increase the time of “like” activities. So we go to sleep later and do “like” activites. It works for a while, but is not long-term solution.

What about to start to think, if we have to do all “must” activities? Can we switch the ratio of “must” versus “like”? Does somebody expect from me, that I will do all my “must” activities? Is it environment around me, who push me or is it me? We are so busy, what we only “do”, but do not think, why we do it.

To take a time for ourself is investment to our future, to our next level of happiness, where we can have more “like” activities, which will our heart enjoy.
